Company shindig

As a new employee I really feel I should go and schmooze. Should I go though?

Would require the following:
- purchase of ticket for husband = $15
- dragging husband somewhere he REALLY doesn't want to go = too expensive to list
- parking = $12
- new dress that actually fits on body = $100-ish
- drinks to have fun at cash bar = $4.50 EACH

Very torn on whole situation...
